My Dear Brothers & Sisters in Christ,

God's Good Day!

This is my last article before retiring. My last Sunday is August 31st.

We have walked together in a sacred journey filled with grace, mercy, and many blessings. The love we've shared in worship and fellowship, and that we've spread outward through our ministries, has left me forever grateful. Serving at St. Nicholas has quite simply been one of the most fulfilling experiences of my life.

In coming weeks this newsletter will take on a different look as St. Nicholas begins a transition shaped with the help of the Spirit. It will be a time of further discovery as God's call for a new day gradually becomes clear.

I've often said that Biblical Faith has more to do with putting trust in action than about right belief. The good people of St. Nicholas have repeatedly and courageously stepped out in faith and experienced amazing blessings as a result. I'm convinced there are even more exciting times ahead for you.

I also have a departing message for the community at large. Recognize the great ally you have in the St. Nicholas family, for they are dedicated to loving our neighbors as God loves us.

You'll find a community of faith based on the fact that there is a God, and that it's not us. Consequently, you'll find love and acceptance, rather than judgment. Simply put, you'll find a beloved community.

Diane and I will miss St. Nicholas and everyone here. I know, too, that the question of where she and I will worship in retirement is one we've yet to answer, because we know of no other place like St. Nicholas.

Your openness and authenticity are rare, if not unique. Continue to be Christ-centered, striving to bring the Kingdom near for everyone in the here and now of the present, loving as you are loved, and all shall be well, exceedingly well.

In Christ's Love & Peace,
