Dear Brothers & Sisters in Christ,

Jesus did not change the world through the work of scores of lukewarm disciples. Quite the contrary, it was the work of just 12 dedicated and totally committed disciples, empowered and emboldened by the Spirit who spread Christianity far and wide. We see the same phenomenon at work in Christ's Church at St. Nicholas.

Ours is not a large parish, to be sure. Yet, the faithful commitment of our parish family is such that we launched an innovative Holy Grill mobile feeding ministry that has now served over 70,000 hot, spirit-lifting meals. We supplement that ministry with the Holy Provisions Free Community Market to help the food insecure, especially our elderly neighbors. Small though we may be, in the power of the Spirit we change the world of our neighbors for the better with the love of Jesus Christ.

Nadia Greenidge has long been a dedicated and totally committed follower of our Lord. She remained faithfully involved in the life of St. Nicholas long after she moved out of state, continuing to fulfill the servant responsibilities of Vestry member and diocesan convention delegate.

Recently, after much prayerful discernment, Nadia requested a letter of transfer to what will be her new parish home at the Episcopal Church of the Holy Presence in Deland, Florida. We'll be forever grateful for Nadia's service to Christ's Church at St. Nicholas and we pray that God will continue to bless her and her ministry as it flourishes at Holy Presence.

In light of Nadia's departure and my impending retirement, St. Nicholas needs a volunteer to serve as our diocesan convention delegate and attend the convention on October 17th & 18th. The convention will be held nearby at Saint Andrew's School, 3900 Jog Road, Boca Raton, FL 33434.

Please see me or Senior Warden Doreen Gauthier, if you might be interested.

Also, it is not too early to begin praying about Vestry elections, which will be held at the all-parish annual meeting in January 2026. Might the Spirit of Almighty God be calling you to take a more active role in the transition to a new era for Christ's Church at St. Nicholas?

If you might be interested in standing for election or if you're unsure and have questions, please speak with me or Doreen.

In advance, thank you!

In Christ's Peace,
Mark Andrew
