       Aelred of Rievaulx's feast day is January 12th, celebrated by Catholics, some Anglicans, and Episcopalians as a saint known for his deep friendships, spiritual writings like Spiritual Friendship, and as a patron saint for LGBTQ+ inclusion due to his profound bonds with men. He died on January 12, 1167, after a life as an influential Cistercian abbot, and his commemoration highlights themes of love, community, and spiritual connection.

       We have three vestry seats for which we need an election.  Tracy Dickey has filled the final months of Nadia Greenidge’s term and is eligible for election for her own three-year term;  Ruth Schroeder is completing her first term and has agreed to seek reelection; Nancy Bigwood has completed her full two thee year terms, therefore ineligible to seek reelection until she has been off one year.  The Vestry is actively working to select a candidate(s) willing to serve for three years.  If you are interested, please let Doreen Gauthier know.

Sister Monica Clare is a nun at the Community of St. John Baptist, an Episcopal religious order based in Mendham, New Jersey. She is the Superior of the convent and will soon be an ordained priest. She is a trained spiritual counselor specializing in religious trauma, mental illness, and addiction.
