And another new week begins!
July 13, 2026
Today is the
Feast Day of Conrad Weiser
Conrad Weiser (1696–1760) is officially commemorated as a "Peacemaker and Reconciler" on the Episcopal Church liturgical calendar. A devoted Lutheran, he used his deep understanding of Native American languages and cultures to prevent war between the Iroquois and British colonists. The church honors him as a faithful ambassador who bridged two cultures and helped Native Americans and early Pennsylvania colonists understand one another
The Episcopal Church celebrates his feast day annually on July 13th, honoring his lifelong dedication to cross-cultural mediation and peaceful diplomacy. His contributions are recognized for how he bridged Native American and colonial communities during a fraught era on the Pennsylvania frontier.

The image shown here is from a vintage cigar box and portrays an older Conrad Weiser, along with his home in Reading, an old Pennsylvania crest, a scene with Indians and the coat of arms of the Duchy of Württemberg in Germany where he was born and raised. Click for reference.

Mark your calendars - our Holy Grillers will be on location at Mason's British Market to help them celebrate their 1 Year Anniversary. All sales proceeds benefit the Holy Grill Mobile Feeding Ministry, now in our 10th year of nourishing bodies and souls.
We are still in need of volunteers for the Holy Grill at Mason's British Market on July 18. Mason's is on Sample Road, just down the street from St. Nicholas, near the new Publix. Our hope is to have two main shifts:
9:00 - 1:30 and 1:30 - 6:30
However, we will be grateful for whatever hours someone is available to volunteer. Please let Jack Gillis know if you can spare any time.

We’re poised to deliver critical, sustained support throughout the evolving recovery process as details come into focus.
