On July 27, The Episcopal Church commemorates
William Reed Huntington,
a priest and key liturgical scholar who died in 1909.
William Reed Huntington (1838-1909) was an influential Episcopal priest, liturgical reformer, and ecumenical leader known as the "First Presbyter of the Church." Although never a bishop, he had more influence on the Episcopal Church than most bishops.
