And another new week begins!

March 16, 2026
Today is
St. Patrick's Day Eve
OK, so St. Patrick’s Day Eve is a totally made-up holiday, but all the other official awareness days for March 16 just weren’t very inspiring. However, the day before St. Patrick’s Day is a perfect time to contemplate the existence of the faith in Ireland prior to his arrival.
Christianity had debuted in Ireland before St. Patrick did, primarily through small, established communities along the coast, likely introduced in the late 4th or early 5th century via trade, raids, and contact with Roman Britain or Gaul. These early, often isolated Christians, were largely located in secluded areas, though some early monastery sites are believed to date from this period. Christianity adopted various pre-Christian, pagan symbols through a process called syncretism, adapting them to fit Christian theology as it spread.

If you’ve read this far, you’re probably wondering what all this has to do with tomorrow’s green beer and the answer is, “Not much.” And a thorough explanation of the transition from paganism to Christianity that spanned centuries would be a bit overly ambitious for our Monday eNews so let’s just end this March 16, St. Patrick’s Day Eve before tomorrow’s big celebration with an early,
“Happy St. Patrick’s Day!”

Announcing a Change in Online Giving
The next time you visit our website, StNicholasFL.org, check out the new format for submitting online donations. Under "Giving" at the navigation menu, click "Donate" to see the new software. You will need to create a login the first time you make a donation. St. Nicholas is now using ChurchTrac.com to manage our member data and will utilize several other organizational tools offered with this software. You can also reach the Giving > Donation page directly at:
StNicholasEpiscopal.churchtrac.com/give
or by scanning this QRCode:

If you have been making automatic donations with FaithStreet on a weekly or monthly basis, you will need to set that up with ChurchTrac. And be sure to login to FaithStreet to discontinue your online giving with that platform. Every new practice comes with a learning curve and it will take a little time to become accustomed to this new format. However, all will be well because
When we Episco-pull together,
we Angli-can do anything!

| Written by Sr. Monica Clair, recently featured here on eNews, the 2026 meditations offer an invitation to rediscover—or deepen—holy habits of prayer, worship and engagement with Scripture. These "holy habits" provide a path to a life that is given shape, meaning and direction by being rooted in a deeper relationship with God.
